Ashley Jeanne Ross, HRHP, CHP
I am a Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner and Fertility Awareness Coach. I am also a Certified Hakomi Practitioner (or Somatic Counselor) trained in the Hakomi Method.
In my lifelong pursuit of finding new ways of exploring the rich terrain where our hormones and emotional intelligence intersect, I sit with women (and some men too) from ages 10 to 70 - helping them find a natural, empowering way to live in their wise, impressionable and cooperative bodies.
I wrote Cycles of Life: Understanding the physical, emotional and spiritual influences of our hormones in 2007 to help women make sense of their own hormonal cycles.
I offer integrative somatic counseling that blends body awareness and mindfulness with hormonal literacy. I combine my training in holistic reproductive health with somatic counseling skills to offer comprehensive physical and emotional support to women.
A brief history
Like lots of women living and working and raising a family in our modern world, I've taken quite a circuitous and creative route to get here. I think of it as a modern feminine-model trajectory.
When we arrived in America with our one-year-old triplets, and my architecture degree got lost in translation, I realized that it required some ingenuity to discover how I could be of service to others. It began with designing cloth menstrual pads (my architecture degree came in very handy with that) followed by a decade of listening to women talk about their cycles - right there on the ground. At the same time my own struggle with PMS took me down a holistic path of healing - where I learnt first hand that our reproductive health is intricately linked with our emotional and environmental wellbeing. I wanted to know more, for myself, but also to bring this to other women. I sought out programs that could provide me with a comprehensive, high quality education designed for application to our real-life, modern lifestyles. Justisse Holistic Reproductive Health and Hakomi have given me that and more.
There has always been a deep passion guiding each step, namely, my commitment to supporting women coming home to their bodies. Not only arriving, but feeling welcomed - and knowing that their bodies are a safe resource. A home.
